What is the Dutch Flute Society (Nederlands Fluit Genootschap)

The Dutch Flute Society was formed in 1992. It is a Dutch and Belgian association for professional and amateur flutists of all levels.

At this time there are 700 members including 100 Belgians and 70 student memberships.

One of the objectives of the NFG is to stimulate flutists to broaden their knowledge of flute repertoire and to establish contacts between flutists in Holland and Belgium and other countries. The NFG publishes the quarterly magazine FLUIT and organizes activities for the various interests groups in its membership.

Since its foundation the NFG has become the major information center for the flutists in Holland. It is at present responsible for establishing an information network between The Netherlands, Belgium and the foreign flute organizations in Europe and other continents.
